The body of research probably began as early as 2000, when I made the transition from practice to teaching. The work spans a range of disciplines, each connected in their conceptual development and realized through different mediums of expression. A summary of the research based activities can be listed within these 4 disciplinary categories under the umbrella of urbanism:

Photography:

landmarks and monuments, changing landscapes, conservation, historicity, image as architecture

photographic representation and the frontier, the industrial picturesque

 

Sculpture:

public art, its relevance and limitations

Design:

urban furniture, public use, place-making

Most of the research work was done as Assistant Professor at the School of Art Design and Media in Nanyang Technological University
